The brown headed barbet is widespread in India. It is fairly tolerant of humans and is often seen in cities. These clicks are from my window in Delhi. It nests in a tree hole, laying 2-4 eggs. The bird is largely frugivorous. This is a relatively large barbet at 27 cm, a plump bird, with short neck, large head. The adult has a streaked brown head, neck and breast, with a yellow eye patch.
